1/2cupcrushed nuts (options: almonds, pecans, or pistachios)
1/2cupcolorful sprinkles
1/4teaspoonsea salt (optional)
Instructions
Prepare Your Workspace: Take a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper. This will be your cooling area for the dipped pretzels and will prevent sticking.
Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave the mixture for 30 seconds at a time, stirring well between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. The total melting time should be roughly 1-2 minutes.
Dip the Pretzels: Hold one pretzel rod by its ends and dip it into the melted chocolate, immersing about two-thirds of the rod. Gently lift the pretzel out and allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
Add Toppings: Immediately roll the chocolate-covered section of the pretzel in the crushed nuts or colorful sprinkles. Press lightly to ensure they stick. If desired, sprinkle a light touch of sea salt on top before the chocolate has a chance to set.
Set the Pretzels: Arrange each dipped pretzel on the lined baking sheet with a bit of space between them to prevent sticking. Continue dipping and topping the remaining pretzel rods using the same method.
Cool and Harden: Once all pretzels are covered and placed on the baking sheet, transfer it into the refrigerator. Allow the pretzels to chill for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm and hardened.
Serve or Store: Enjoy these delicious treats right away or store them in an airtight container. They will remain fresh for up to a week.
Notes
For a festive display, arrange the dipped pretzel rods in a jar or a decorative glass vase.
