0.5teaspoonground cinnamon (optional but recommended)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by greasing it lightly with butter and dusting it with flour, or line it with parchment paper for easy release.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas with the melted butter. Stir until they’re well blended and achieve a creamy consistency.
Add both the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the banana mixture, mixing thoroughly. Then, whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until everything is evenly combined.
Sprinkle the baking soda and salt uniformly over the mixture, stirring gently to combine. If you’re using cinnamon, add it now for a warm flavor boost.
Carefully fold in the sifted flour using a spatula or wooden spoon. Mix just until the flour disappears—it's okay if there are a few lumps; this will ensure a tender bread.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed in the batter. Reserve a handful of chocolate chips to sprinkle on top before baking.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Evenly sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips over the surface to create a tempting topping.
Place the loaf pan in your preheated oven and bake for approximately 60-65 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs attached.
Once baked, remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. After that, gently transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an elegant touch, slice the bread and serve each piece on a decorative plate. Enhance the presentation by adding a sprinkle of toasted coconut or a handful of chopped nuts on the side.
