Begin by pouring the milk and heavy cream into the slow cooker. Stir them gently to combine.
Add the white chocolate chips to the creamy mixture along with the pure vanilla and peppermint extracts. Stir lightly until the chocolate chips start to soften and blend into the dairy.
Cover the slow cooker and set it to low heat. Let it cook for about 2 to 3 hours. Stir occasionally to ensure even melting and to keep the mixture creamy and smooth.
After the allotted time, check if the chocolate has completely melted and the mixture is silky. If so, proceed to the next step.
Add the crushed candy canes to the rich hot chocolate and stir thoroughly to infuse the minty flavor throughout the drink.
Taste your creation and adjust the peppermint flavor to your liking. If you prefer a more intense mint flavor, feel free to add a little more peppermint extract.
Using a ladle, pour the delicious hot chocolate into festive mugs.
Crown each serving with a generous swirl of whipped cream, and sprinkle additional crushed candy canes on top for a cheerful and festive twist.
Notes
Serve with a small candy cane stirrer in each mug and a light dusting of cocoa powder on top of the whipped cream for added decoration.
